The Expanded Osage Casino Hotel 2016-2019

Osage Casino Hotel has completed a massive $160 million expansion project that added 247,000 new square feet. The expansion included 66,000 square feet of additional gaming space, a 141-room hotel, a brewery and a sports bar.

The enlarged casino floor has an additional 1,500 slot machines, 39 high-limit machines, 20 table games and five poker tables. There is also a new sports bar and grill, a small cafe and casino bar.

The Osage Casino Hotel opened August 29, 2018. It has 141 rooms including six suites, a fitness center and a large, 120,000-gallon luxury pool.

Construction was officially completed in Feb. 2019 with the opening of the Skyline Event Center. Construction began with a ground breaking in Nov. 2016.

Osage Casino Hotel is preparing to reopen May 15 with new safety measures and limited operations. The casino will be opened in phases as restrictions are lifted. Initially the total number of customers inside the casino will be limited to 1,500 at any one time. Every other slot machine will be turned off. Table games will be closed. There will be no food service and the hotel will remain closed.

The smaller Osage Casino in Ponca City reopened today. It will test and evaluate the new safety measures that are also planned for Tulsa.

Osage Tulsa breaks ground on 2nd hotel tower

July 9, 2019

The Osage Nation broke ground today on a second hotel tower at the Osage Casino Hotel in downtown Tulsa. This will be a six-story tower with 145 guest rooms.

The construction cost for this project will be $28 million. The completion date is estimated to be August 2020.

Last year the Osage Casino Hotel in Tulsa completed a $160 million expansion and renovation project which added 66,000 square feet of gaming space, a brewery and sports bar, and the Skyline Event Center. The project also added 141 hotel rooms.

During his address at the ground breaking ceremony, Osage Casinos CEO Byron Bighorse mentioned last year's hotel project saying:

'The minute that we opened this property, I saw an issue right away and that was we didn't build enough hotel rooms to begin with. ...This was originally in our plans to have this many rooms. So I'm very excited to see this happen.'

Osage Casino Hotel opens new Skyline Event Center

February 7, 2019

Construction of the new Skyline Event Center is finished and will open next week. Today a VIP event is planned to celebrate the opening. The first public concert is Feb. 16 featuring the Goo Goo Dolls.

This 45,000-square-foot concert and entertainment venue has 2,000 total seats. There are 1,700 seats on the stage level, and the mezzanine has 300 seats and five private suites. There is also a a concession stand and a bar.

The opening of the Skyline Event completes the $160 million casino and hotel expansion project at the Osage Casino Hotel.

New Osage Casino and Hotel opens in Downtown Tulsa

The new casino hotel in Tulsa is now open. It is the Osage Casino and Hotel and is being branded as the downtown casino. However, the location is just outside of the downtown area. It is located just four minutes away at 951 W 36th St. North in Tulsa.

The new Osage Casino and Hotel is estimated to earn in local revenue $32 million according to tribal leaders.

The public was invited on Wednesday for the official opening. Many people visited the new casino hotel. Leaving the parking lot full. There was a special ribbon cutting ceremony held for the grand opening.

Plans to develop the new casino took nearly 15 years. The project cost $160 million to complete.

The casino is open 24 hours daily. There are game tables. Blackjack is offered. As well as over 1,600 electronic gaming machines.

The hotel offers 141 guest rooms. There is space for meetings and conventions.

The expansion also created a brewery and a new parking garage. Concerts can be held at the new event center. There are also four dining options.

The Thunder Bar & Grill is open daily. There is a food menu and offers live music.

It is estimated that $32 million will be contributed to the economy from the salaries of 400 employees.

Currently there are seven Osage Casino locations.

The casinos are overseen by the Osage Tribe Gaming Enterprise Board. The group was formed by the Osage Tribal Council after the tribe was given approval from the federal government to operate a casino.

In 2002 the Osage opened their first casino in Hominy. The following year they opened Pawhuska. Next was Sand Springs in 2004. The original Tulsa opened in the middle of 2005. The next year they opened Bartlesville. Two casinos were opened in 2007. In the Fall was Skiatook. In the Winter was Ponca City.

The Downtown Tulsa Osage Casino is preparing to open. The $160 million property will also offer a hotel, microbrewery, and pool.

Plans for the new casino have been in the works for nearly ten years.

It is located north by almost 4 minutes from downtown and along the LL Tisdale Parkway. This will be the closest casino to the area.

The hotel will have 141 guest rooms. This will be attractive to out of town visitors that want to visit Tulsa's Arts districts and the Blue Dome. It will also be attractive to locals wanting a get away close to home.

The hotel will offer resort amenities including a resort style pool. It will hold 120,000 gallons of water. It can accommodate 240 guests. The hot tub can accommodate 15 guests. There will be a tanning ledge with 15 lounge chairs. The outdoor deck that overlooks the pool and the Osage Hills. A fire pit. Also, a sports bar. Outdoor entertainment will be held in the new 6,000 square foot outdoor area. The outdoor entertainment area will provide an additional venue for events and parties to be held by the people in Tulsa. The area is described as high end and indulgent.

This will also be the only casino in Oklahoma to offer a full scale, on site brewery.

In addition to its own beers, the brewery will also offer other locally made beers.

On August 29 the grand opening will be held.

The casino will be 66,280 square feet. This will replace the original and smaller casino located next door. There will be five poker tables and 16 game tables in operation. There will also be 1,550 electronic gaming machines.

New Osage Casino Tulsa will open in August 2018

In August of 2018 a new Osage Casino will open. The Tulsa casino cost $150 million to complete.

Included at the new casino will brewery offering locally made beer Nine Band Brewery. The brewery will offer craft beer that will only be offered at the Osage Casino. The mircobrew will be made onsite at the casino using a 20 barrel system. Guests will be able to watch the beer making process at the bar area located next to the brewery.

There will be four types of beer produced by Nine Band Brewery that will always by on the menu. They are the triple, Blue Lacy Brown Ale, Hoop Snake Hefeweizen, and Nine Band Pale Ale. Production will begin in July so that it will be ready for the August opening. Guests will also be able to try visiting breweries as well.

In addition to the brewery, there will be a 247,000 square foot casino. It will be two stories. The new casino building will have high limit betting as well as a state of the art casino gaming floor.

The hotel will offer 141 guest rooms. It will be 74,000 square feet. Also guests will be able to use the resort styled pool. Meetings and events will be able to be hosted at the hotel. The space can either be converted to one large room, or up to three smaller individual rooms. There will also be direct elevator access to the space.

The entire facility is expected to be open by August 2018. However, the event center will open in January the following year.

History

The casino opened in August 2009. It was formerly the Cherokee Casino Resort. In September 2012 Hard Rock Tulsa was awarded 'Tribal Destination of the Year' by the American Indian and Alaska Native Tourism Association.

Since that time there has been several major construction projects to enhance the features and amenties for visitors and guests. Two new hotel towers and a non-smoking gaming area were added in 2013.

Other additions were Hard Rock Live (formerly The Joint: Tulsa) 2,700-seat concert venue, a food court and a 23,000 square-foot convention center. A aluxury spa and an adults-only swimming pool were added in 2017.

In early 2019 Hard Rock Tulsa added 65,000 square feet to its casino. The two-level addition features 450 new slot machines, the Track 5 dance hall and a new poker room.

Hard Rock Tulsa reopens June 12

The Cherokee Nation announced today the reopening of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa will be next week by June 12. To protect against the spread of COVID-19, new safety procedures and health protocols will be in place for guests and employees.

Upon arrival guests must wear face coverings and pass a temperature check before entering.

HARD ROCK CASINO
The number of available slot machines has been reduced to provide social distancing between players. Guests will find sanitizing wipes available to wipe their machine and chair before playing.

RESTAURANTS
Buffets will be temporarily closed. Self-serve drink stations will also be closed. Dining venues that are open will have limited seating for social distancing.

HARD ROCK HOTEL
Occupancy will be limited. All guest rooms and suites will be deep cleaned prior to occupancy. The pool areas are temporarily closed. Also, valet service and bell service will be temporarily suspended.

ENTERTAINMENT
Live entertainment will be limited during the first phase. For safe distancing the seating is reduced and there will be no dancing.

Hard Rock Casino Tulsa is nominated for Academy of Country Music award

The Academy of Country Music Awards will honor The Joint:Tulsa at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa as one of the leading country music venues in this year's 55th annual awards show. The show will be televised by CBS on Sunday, April 5 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Hard Rock is completing construction of a two-level structure with 65,000 additional square feet. The new area provides the casino with more gaming space for 450 slot machines, a new poker room and a dance hall named Track 5.

A job fair will be held today from 2pm - 6pm in the Grand Hall of the Cherokees. There are many positions available in a variety of areas.

Hard Rock Tulsa Opens 'Track 5' Dance Hall

Hard Rock Tulsa opened Track 5 today as its newest entertainment venue. Track 5 is a 1,200-square-foot, wooden dance with the theme of Oklahoma's honky tonk roots.

The name originated with Don Williams' song 'Tulsa Time' which was the fifth track of his album 'Expressions'. Then it was discovered that other artist's album had Oklahoma songs on their fifth tracks.

'The idea started as an ode to 'Tulsa Time,' the fifth track on legend Don Williams' album 'Expressions.' Through this phase, we stumbled upon the bizarre coincidence of an Oklahoma tie embedded on the fifth track on the albums of four other iconic artists. Hard Rock Casino ready for roulette and craps

When the Department of Interior gives approval to allow roulette and craps at Oklahoma casinos, Tulsa's Hard Rock Casino and Resort intends to be the first casino to offer the games in the state. The Hard Rock has stated that as soon as the final permission is given, the casino will offer them.

Cherokee Nation Entertainment owns the Tulsa Hard Rock Casino and Resort.

The games that offer balls and dice are believed to attract more guests to the casinos as something different. It will appeal to a much larger base of gamers.

Employees began training on the new games as soon as the bill to legalize them was signed by Governor Mary Fallin.

Training on the new games have lasted between 20 and 250 hours for the employees.

When the federal government gives the approval, 50 dealers will be ready to operate the games. There will be four roulette tables and three craps tables.

Providing a better gaming experience for guests is a large reason for the Hard Rock to want to add the games.

Advertising has started letting area residents know about the addition of roulette and craps at the Tulsa Hard Rock Casino and Resort. Excitement for the new games is growing. The casino has been receiving daily questions over the starting date for the new games.

The Tribal Gaming Act will need to be revised and then reviewed by the federal government. After it is reviewed, and approval is given, then the resolution will need to be published. After that the games can begin being offered to guests.
